PEOPLE>>>>Do Better. Be Better. Live Better.
Chester killing of Mr. Jeffries.
I’m just hearing about the death of such a young man, at the age of 33, his life was taken while his main focus was trying to be a good father to his 8 year old daughter. It pains me that in a world so full of hate, envy, and pure evilness that as black men and black women we still choose to add to it instead of being the change and solution we desperately seek. Closing the gap between our own kind should be our main focus. Especially, when we have so much already against us. No matter how hard an individual try to change the world; you just simply can’t, not alone that is. It takes a village consisting of each and every one of us pulling together undivided to get the job that’s long over due done. Stop the violence. Stop the black on black crime. One is dead. One will probably spend the rest of his life in jail. One sweet baby girl lost a father, who she witnessed being murdered in front of her. She will forever be tarnished and haunted by the images of this deadly and heinous act. The other one, well, that one will live life regretfully.PEOPLE>>>Do better. Be better. Live better.

Happy 93rd Birthday Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Today we honor you Dr. King. Your life and legacy meant more than you will ever know to us as minorities. Thank you for paving the way. We have come a long way and although we still have a ways to go, we have made tremendous progress. We owe you a great deal of gratitude.
Your message resonates in the hearts of many. Although, some hearts remain unwavering to change and refuse to listen to your word, we understand it’s not our fight and we give total control over to God.
A little boy born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Ga who would grow up and change the world. A minister, the most prominent speaker and leader of the American Civil Rights movement from 1955 until death by, assassination, in April of 1968. Your voice rang from the streets of Montgomery & Birmingham, Alabama reaching millions all across the world. A true nonviolent activist who made such an impact using power words, and a robust and influential presence.
We will never forget YOUR famous “I have a Dream” speech……
“I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed. We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal”.
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by their character”.
“That one day little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers”.
Dr. King its happening! Not 100% across the nation but it is happening.
Thank you for paving the way and leaving a blueprint for ALL to follow. Rest in paradise.
x signed a little black girl.

Dear, Momma Critty “It’s a Holiday”
In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I would like to share an interpretation by my friend, Ms. Gloria Simon.
Momma Critty was an enslaved woman who worked in the hearth kitchen on Patrick Henry’s Red Hill plantation in Brookneal, Virginia. She cooked all the meals for the Henry family. She was a strong woman. Today we honor Dr. King by sharing this message to Momma Critty. I hope that you enjoy!

Stop Collecting Red Flags!
Stop Collecting Red Flags!
A red flag suggests the need to halt or stop. It signifies the possibility that a person won’t have the relationship they intended and that there will be consequences down the road.
Not trusting your gut leads to danger. If things don’t add up take it as a sign. Don’t ignore them. Facts are facts. If you see them understand you can’t UNSEE them. They’re there and they are very real.
Inconsistencies, irresponsibility, emotional unstableness, lack of communication, and absence are just a few of the indicators of underlining & bigger problems. There are many others. Do not overlook them.
If your attention is drawn to a certain activity, act, conversation, quality, or habit it would be wise to voice that you are displeased and why. Let that person know that what they are doing makes you uneasy and if not corrected or ceased to exist that it will cause a bigger problem.
Do not let anyone tell you that you are complaining, badgering, or nagging. You are entitled to your feelings and those feelings should be respected. If it is not received well and the shift of blame begins, understand that is a RED FLAG.
If you choose to stay it would be wise to seek counseling to address the issue directly while it is fresh. Do not let it fester and become a thorn in your side or a pain in your ass.
Recognize and accept when there are signs screaming for you to let go and let God! Your body will also warn you in the way it reacts if something is not right. Listen to it. Address the situation by exercising self-control, respect, and grace. If you feel uncomfortable remember that crucial conversations are ones that you are not holding or not holding well. Identify them, accept them, and do something about it. The more silent you are the more violence will occur which means the more problems you run into!
