Dear, Momma Critty “It’s a Holiday”

Blog

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I would like to share an interpretation by my friend, Ms. Gloria Simon.

Momma Critty was an enslaved woman who worked in the hearth kitchen on Patrick Henry’s Red Hill plantation in Brookneal, Virginia. She cooked all the meals for the Henry family. She was a strong woman. Today we honor Dr. King by sharing this message to Momma Critty. I hope that you enjoy!
